Australian goalkeeper Mat Ryan returns to Levante for another year, after playing for Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal. Last season, Ryan defended the Levante goal in 36 games. The 34-year-old Mat Ryan, will return to defend the Levante goal for another season. Ryan was a key player last season in the team's survival and this season, after being called up to his national team for his fourth World Cup, has decided to return to the City of Valencia. Formed in the youth academy of Blacktown City and Central Coast Mariners, he made his debut in the top tier with the latter in the 2010/2011 campaign. In 2013, he moved to Belgium to join Brujas and in 2015, he had his first experience in Spain with Valencia CF. Two years later, in January 2017, he returned to Belgium to play, on loan, for KRC Genk.
