Levante UD have raised their salary cap to 45.5 million euros for the first half of the 2026-27 season. The figure is ten million more than the 35.5 million euros the club started last season with, though that limit was cut to 17.4 million euros after a March update.
LaLiga published the new salary limits for the First and Second Division on 10 September, and Levante UD ranks as the fourth lowest-spending club in the entire competition by Coste de Plantilla Deportiva limit for 2026-27.
Why has Levante UD's salary cap gone up
The rise stems from 42.5 million euros in profit that the club made during the summer transfer window. The sale of Carlos Espí's release clause to Real Madrid, valued at 25 million euros, was the deal that contributed most to those accounts.
On top of that, Pepe Danvila, Levante UD's main shareholder, has formalised a capital injection of 15 million euros. That contribution still needs approval at an Extraordinary General Shareholders' Meeting, for which no date has been set.
How much does the new stadium debt weigh
Levante UD has also taken on an additional debt of 6 million euros linked to payments for the first phase of the Ciutat de Valencia stadium's remodelling. That expense has not stopped the salary cap from growing, though it remains a factor to watch.
What Héctor Rodas says about financial fair play
Héctor Rodas, Levante UD's technical secretary, has tied the financial improvement to survival in the top flight. "Si este año logramos la permanencia, estaremos más cerca de la regla 1:1 para el Fair Play Financiero," Rodas said at a press conference.
Under manager Luís Castro, the club secured survival last season and confirmed a second straight campaign in LaLiga EA Sports.
