Levante UD aim to bounce back at home against Athletic Club this Wednesday following their latest defeat. The granotes, 14th in La Liga with five points, host the Basque side at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia with two confirmed absences from the lineup.
Etta Eyong and Hugo Sotelo are both ruled out for the clash. Eyong is sidelined with a thigh muscle injury and is not expected back until the end of the month. Sotelo, with a sprained knee, is out until October. His absence in midfield forces the manager to reshuffle his plans.
Levante's recent form has been mixed. After a goalless draw in Malaga and a 5-2 thrashing of Betis, they fell 2-4 to Barcelona last weekend. Brugui, the team's top scorer with three goals, netted one in that match.
Athletic Club arrive after a home draw with Elche, but previously routed Atletico Madrid. Their last starting eleven featured the Williams brothers and Oihan Sancet in attacking roles. For Levante, Sotelo's absence could open the door for more minutes for Jon Ander Olasagasti or Reque in the engine room.
With a busy schedule ahead, Levante's next fixture is a trip to face Villarreal. The full squad, aside from the two injured players, is available to try and take three points from a direct rival. The injuries list remains stable for the time being.
